She was trying to buy a wetsuit and realised she had forgotten her purse so was unable to pay. Oblivious shopkeeper Dave Buckland then asked Kate for her name when she asked if she could reserve the wetsuit to collect later when she had money on her. She gave him the name “Mrs Cambridge” - a nod to her then-title of Duchess of Cambridge.
