Lawyers for Rebekah Vardy had claimed Coleen Rooney’s lawyers committed ‘serious misconduct’ by ‘deliberately’ understating legal costs

A minibar bill run up by one of Coleen Rooney’s lawyers consisted of “two bottles of water” which amounted to £7, a court has heard. This comes amid claims of “extraordinary” spending during her high-profile Wagatha Christie libel battle with Rebekah Vardy, the High Court has been told.

The so-called Wagatha Christie dispute has gone back to the High Court, with Rebekah Vardy challenging the "sheer magnitude" of the legal costs claimed by Coleen Rooney from their 2022 libel trial. Mrs Vardy lost that case after a judge ruled it was "substantially true" that she had leaked Mrs Rooney's private information to the press.
