The decision to dismiss Erik ten Hag might go beyond mere sporting merit as the new Manchester United boardroom is put under the spotlight.

Man Utd are eyeing former Chelsea boss Thomas Tuchel to replace Erik ten Hag, and he has already met Sir Jim Ratcliffe.

Thomas Tuchel has already told Manchester United bosses in no uncertain terms of his desire to one day manage at Old Trafford. Tuchel is considered the favourite to succeed Erik ten Hag should United decide to sack the beleaguered Dutchman, and held talks with Sir Jim Ratcliffe in the summer but an agreement could not be reached.
